TRANSLATION

METAFRASI's team of project managers manages more than 15 in-house translators and a database of over 1,000 freelance translators from all over the world. Our translators are carefully selected and evaluated and have membership in the official associations of their respective countries, such as:

We work hard to guarantee the linguistic quality and technical precision of all our projects. To achieve this we use the most advanced resources on the market, such as computer-assisted translation tools (CAT tools) and translation memories, as well as terminology management and software localisation utilities.

1. > QUALITY CONTROL PROCESS

   We have developed a process of quality assurance that allows us to complete translations in the shortest possible time whilst ensuring that they are highly accurate and reliable. With this in mind, we assign three professionals to each project: a translator, a proofreader, and an in-house project manager working in direct collaboration with them. They are supported in addition by our design team and experts in document preparation.

   Our work methodology and quality control processes are based on:

   • The expertise and experience of our translators.
   • The work methodology of the production process (pre-translation, translation, terminology revision, editing for style and copy editing).
   • The follow-up performed by our project managers.

2. > WORK METHOD

   Due to the varying characteristics of each client and type of document, there is no one strict work method; we are flexible and adapt to each different project.

3. > ORGANISATIONAL PROCESS

   • We draw up a quote and establish a delivery date. The date is coordinated with the client according to the length, complexity, format and urgency of the document(s).
   • The translator and proofreader are rigorously selected according to the specifications of the project, and they are always native speakers translating into their mother tongue.
   • For extensive, multilingual projects, METAFRASI appoints a project manager who is responsible for communicating with the client and all translators for the duration of the project.
   • A glossary of terms is continuously updated, specific to each client and subject, in order to guarantee terminology consistency for all projects.
   • We maintain a close relationship with the client (following suggestions, ensuring quality control, anticipating needs and so forth).

4. > FORMAT AND TYPES OF TEXTS

   Our resources allow us to translate and edit documents in any language or format required by the client. We work with all types of applications and encoding and have fonts and filters for over 100 languages for Mac and PC.

   For multilingual projects, we are able to employ multiple templates and can adjust them to the requirements of the target language(s) so the structure and style of the original document are always preserved.

6. > SWORN/CERTIFIED TRANSLATIONS

   We provide sworn translations of official and private documents in the administrative and legal spheres among others. These translations are certified by translators from the Spanish, Catalan and Galician governments or the foreign institution of the country where the document will be sent.
